Accessibility Statement
ANVIL is committed to making our training platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that AI-powered career transformation should be available to all, regardless of ability. This statement describes our accessibility efforts, known issues, and how to get help.
1. Our Commitment
ANVIL strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. WCAG 2.1 AA is the widely accepted standard for web accessibility, and meeting it means our platform should be usable by people with a wide range of disabilities, including:
- Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
- Hearing impairments (deafness, hard of hearing)
- Motor impairments (limited fine motor control, inability to use a mouse)
- Cognitive and learning disabilities (dyslexia, attention disorders, memory difficulties)
Accessibility is not a one-time project. It is an ongoing practice that we integrate into our design and development process.
2. What We Have Done
Here is what we have implemented to make ANVIL accessible:
Design and Visual
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Done
- Responsive design: The site works on all screen sizes from 320px width and up, including mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. Done
- System fonts: We use your device's default system fonts, which respect your operating system's font size and accessibility settings. Done
- Reduced motion: Users who have enabled "Reduce Motion" in their operating system settings will see minimal or no animations. Done
- No color-only information: We do not convey information through color alone. Status indicators, selections, and errors use text labels and/or icons in addition to color. Done
Navigation and Interaction
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, quiz options) are reachable and operable using the keyboard alone. Done
- Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines appear on interactive elements when navigating with a keyboard. Done
- Skip navigation link: A "Skip to content" link is available on the homepage for keyboard users to bypass the navigation menu. Done
- Touch targets: All buttons and interactive elements meet the minimum 44x44 pixel touch target size for mobile users. Done
- Logical tab order: The tab order follows the visual layout of the page. Done
Content and Semantics
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements (headings, lists, nav, main, footer) so screen readers can understand the page structure. Done
- Heading hierarchy: Pages use a logical heading structure (h1, h2, h3) without skipping levels. Done
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels that screen readers can announce. Done
- Language attribute: The page language is declared in the HTML lang attribute. Done
- Descriptive link text: Links describe their destination rather than using generic text like "click here." Done
3. Known Issues and Remediation
We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to resolve them:
| Issue | Impact | Status | Target Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quiz slide transitions may not announce to screen readers | Screen reader users may not know when quiz content changes | In Progress | Q2 2026 |
| Quiz results page needs ARIA live region | Screen reader users may not hear their quiz results automatically | In Progress | Q2 2026 |
| FAQ accordion needs ARIA expanded states | Screen reader users may not know if an FAQ answer is open or closed | Planned | Q2 2026 |
| Mobile menu needs focus trapping | Keyboard users may tab behind the open mobile menu | Planned | Q2 2026 |
| Error messages in lead form need ARIA alert role | Screen reader users may not hear form validation errors | Planned | Q2 2026 |
We are committed to resolving these issues. When new issues are identified, they will be added to this table with a target remediation date.

Our accessibility efforts include:
- Automated testing: We use automated accessibility checking tools to catch common issues during development.
- Manual testing: We manually test with keyboard navigation and screen readers.
- Browser testing: We test across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on both desktop and mobile.
- Ongoing review: Accessibility is reviewed with each significant update to the platform.
8. Legal Compliance

We take accessibility seriously because ANVIL exists to help displaced workers -- and disability disproportionately affects the communities we serve. If something on our platform is not accessible, it is a bug and we will fix it.
